Passing Show

The Passing Show started on 20th March 1915 as a 1-penny magazine of 32 pages printed on cheap pulp paper. It consisted of a few light-hearted articles and many line-drawing cartoons. In January 1924 a New Series was begun with a coloured cover (usually one colour, red) at a price of 2d. The quality of the cartoon arists improved and included George Studdy, Harry Rowntree and, in five issued, Edmund Blampied, advertised on the front cover as 'Blam' (see left).
